Richard T. "Tim" Curley - Principal Attorney
Tim Curley was born in Philadelphia and is a native of Lansdowne, Delaware County. He graduated from St. Joseph's Prep in 1980, and obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Villanova University in 1983. Tim graduated from the Delaware Law School of Widener University in 1986, and was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar. He is also admitted to the bars of the federal Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania.
After law school, Tim clerked in the Court of Common Pleas of Chester County for several Judges, where his assignments included a floating position, which was responsible to the late President Judge Leonard Sugerman. He clerked directly for the late Judge John E. Stively, Jr. and now Eastern District of Pennsylvania Judge J. Curtis Joyner during Judge Joyner's time on the Chester County bench.
Tim worked for several years in insurance claims, as Litigation Manager for Pennsylvania's then largest medical malpractice insurance carrier. At that point, Tim left claims management to begin his litigation practice. For the past thirty years, Tim has been the lead attorney on hundreds of matters throughout Pennsylvania. As trial counsel, Tim has tried in excess of one hundred cases and has taken verdicts more than one hundred times in fifteen different counties and the Middle District of Pennsylvania. In addition, he has handled cases that did not require trial disposition in 20 other counties and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. With the addition of his subrogation and collection practice, Tim has cases open in 18 states, and has handled cases in an additional five states.
The firm's practice includes: civil, commercial, collection and employment related litigation; business and not-for-profit organization and administration; and estate planning, along with a variety of administrative, licensing and real estate matters. In addition, the firm handles debt resolution negotiation.
Tim is currently on the Finance Committee of St. Columbkill Parish, previously having worked as well on their Building Committee and Parish Council. He has been on the School Board of St. Francis Academy for many years. He was President of St. Francis CYO from 2002 until 2011. In addition, Tim has been privileged to be Solicitor for the Borough of Bally.
Tim served on the Board of Directors of the Boyertown Area YMCA and was a member of their Endowment and Skate Park Committees.
Over the years, Tim has coached youth soccer, baseball, softball and basketball for the Boyertown and Pottsgrove Soccer Clubs, Boyertown Area YMCA, Boyertown Optimists Club and Saint Francis CYO. He has also been a licensed referee in soccer.
